My Hubby has landed a new and better job position,
and while it keeps him away during the week, (thank
you internet! that we can easily stay in contact) and
he is home on weekends, it is better pay and less
time driving and the drive is easier. But the exciting
part is that one of his coworkers is deaf and has
two kids the same age as mine! Yay! We plan to
go there and visit on some weekends for snow
trips instead of him comming home. So we are
looking forward to meeting this family. The
daughter is not deaf but trying to learn ASL to
communicate with her dad. Maybe a pal for my
daughter?! This deaf man was very surprised when
my hubby signed, "Hi How are you?" So naturally
he starts to sign like greased lightning and my
hubby says, "WAIT, please slow for me!" They
both laugh at that. So after that today my
hub says he came over to where my hub works
and chatted together for about 15 mins during
break. The guys across the table were very
interested that my husband knew sign language.
(My hubby learned SEE because he had a Deaf friend
and she taught him so he could communicate with
his Deaf cousin but don't know why she chose SEE
because she uses ASL herself) Any way I am
excited to make some new deaf friends. (that I
might actually get to spend some time with)
