Thanks for all who entered the first AD Haiku Contest. There were many clever entries, and they were fun to read. The final winner is... well...

Banjo's Haiku

First thing in the morning,
I see her, I always kiss her,
I love her very much

Cheetah's Haiku

I am Deaf

Because I am deaf
My teachers thought I was dumb
I cried every night

Because I am deaf
I was told what I can't do
I proved them all wrong

Because I am deaf
The girls would never want me
Kids can be so mean

Because I am deaf
I turned my fears into hope
Victory is sweet

Because I am deaf
I see the world through my eyes
I am not afraid

Because I am deaf
My life is my own to live
I am content

I can see you are
A person of such strength
Because.... You are Deaf.

Thanks everyone, I had fun with this. Writing is therapeutic for me. So in a way, everyone here is helping me to be a better person. And, ahem, the new car is really nice... Next time don't you have something in a nice sporty red? :giggle:

I liked your poem too! Thanks. I couldn't vote on any poems, guess the users who participated couldn't vote. Or was that just me?
