Auto buffs and muscle car enthusiasts may sing a different tune about alternative fuel vehicles next month. Tesla Motors of San Carlos, California announced a new electric sports car said to rival Porsches and Ferraris. The car is slated to be unveiled July 12 in Santa Monica. Tesla’s electric is a certifiable sports car, boasting an acceleration of zero to 60 in four seconds and a range of 250 miles before needing a recharge. Unlike some of its predecessors, this car is not a plug-in hybrid: it’s purely electric.

Impossible for going long distance travel where electric charger station? only stuck in town or city. I wish all gas stations must install new electricity charger for electric cars. Amazing it can go fast. I thought electric car could not go fast as gas sport cars. Hybrid is better because less pollution gas powers the electricity drives. Maybe another decade? Hybrid is step right now.
