At my gym, I see the yoga class and see how flexible those people are. Since I am getting older and my body takes longer to recover from exercising or playing sports. I am wondering if I do yoga will it help? Also, I would like to know if any deaf person who goes to the yoga class can let me know if it is easy to follow the instructor? I noticed that the class usually close their eyes or get into a position that blocks eye contact to the instructor so I am wondering since I am deaf, would it be worth it to try it and be able to follow the instructions?

Or if u want to post your experiences with yoga class, go ahead. I am just interested in it but would like your feedback.

Thanks!

I encourgae people of all ages to try yoga. It will help you relax, concentrate better, and you will feel more energetic. Your body will benefit greatly with better health and flexiblity. I suggest talking to the instructor beforehand the class or before signing up for the class and seeing how he/she approaches you. I will share with you one funny experience I had in a yoga class. The instructor instructed everyone to lie down. ( I had a interpreter at the time) The instructor went through a walk through, and I was watching my interpreter. What my interpreter was saying confused me, and I decided to look around. I realized everyone else in the class had closed their eyes and were meditating and the teacher was guiding them through their first meditation. I decided to go ahead and close my eyes and figure it out at that point. Teaching a deaf person yoga takes a different approach as opposed to teaching a hearing person. There are CDs that can guide a person through a meditation session. A deaf person would need to research and read on the procedures before going into meditation.

Want a idea of what Yoga can be like? Meditation starts the instant you close your eyes, and lasts as long as you close your eyes. Don't beleieve me? close your eyes for 5 or 10 seconds or for as long as you feel like. I GUARANTEE you will feel relaxed.

Yoga also is very helpful for back, neck and body problems. The concept of Yoga is a few centuries old, so it does work.

I've heard about this from some of my friends, I'm curious about it and sure wanna to attend Yoga classes...I'll see if there's one near me
