My mother got out of ICU today. She is doing a lot better. She still has a long way to go. She had cellulitis that turned into septicemia. She had surgery twice on her left leg, and except for some fluid retention, she's looks great. She spent a week in ICU and we almost lost her on Wednesday. Now she gets to let her leg heal and close up, learn to walk again and get stronger so she can come home. She's too young to feel old. She's only 69.

That's great. :) Wishing a speedy recovery for your mother.

I sure hope your mother get speedy recovery and you have my prayer to help her get better everyday. God bless her. She is a very brave woman having to suffer from this terrible septicemia. Keep her happy and be there for her when she need you or any member of your family. :D

Well- Great news!!!

Mom looks so much better today. She ws moved to nursing home on Monday (22nd), Tuesday (23rd) she spent resting and had physical therapy to exercise muscles while in bed. Today (24th) she is up and walking with her walker. She did 25 feet while in the physical therapy room and even though she still has a catheter, she was able to get to the bathroom when needed. She is doing much much better. I am having to take the wheels for her walker in today. Just 3 weeks ago she said she would never use them, now after having tried a walker with them today, she wants them. Yeah!!!

She is looking forward to coming home. Have to get the leg healed first. She had 3 surgeries on the lower left leg. She stills tires out easily, but has more energy than she did at hospital. We were looking at a total of 4-6 weeks of recovery and rehabilitation. Now the nurses say that we only need to wait for the leg to heal, her walking is doing great.:dance2:
