TOKYO--Namco and Monolithsoft will bring their popular PlayStation 2 sci-fi role-playing game Xenosaga to the small screen in Japan. To air on the Asahi TV network beginning in January 2005, the anime program will be titled Xenosaga the Animation and will be based on the first installment of the Xenosaga trilogy, Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht.
Some of the more noteworthy creative staff behind the project includes character designer Nobuteru Yuki (Record of Lodoss War), mech designer Hiroyuki Taiga (F-Zero: Falcon densetsu, Beast Wars Transformers), and director Shigeyasu Yamauchi (Ojamajo Doremi, Knights of the Zodiac). The series will be produced by Toei Animation.

EBI cites that over 7 million cable subscribers signed the specific plan to access the channel for Xenosaga the Animation in Japan. I think it is pretty big... Even though I wish they will do Xenogears instead of Xenosaga, oh well. Hobuteru Yuki is pretty good artist, I like his works in Record of Lodoss War.
