Interesting I saw some seller sell 1,500 dollars Elite on ebay and most seller sell 400 dollars Elite on ebay. I was confused why one has 1,500 and other are less? So I tried selling mine and was hoping I would get 1,500 dollars for my Elite to get 1,000 dollars profit. Then one of the buyer ask me a question before bidding it. I learned something and now I understand why seller got lucky selling for 1,500 dollars. Ok I learned that Xbox 360 use 3 different DVD drives. Many people want the BENQ drive which is most poplaur and rare. My Elite DVD drive is Hitachi GDR-3120L which is medium poplaur.

Here are the 3 DVD drives that vary Xbox 360 use:
Toshiba/Samsung TS-H943A
Hitachi GDR-3120L
BENQ VAD6038

I am assuming BENQ drive cause less errors? Somebody out there know this. I could be wrong.

Which drives is on your xbox 360?

Both of my 360's had the Toshiba-Samsung DVD drives that were nothing but trouble. I ended up with both 360's refusing to load game data but will play movie dvds.

The DVD drives were the reason I gave up on the 360 and went PS3.

Another reason is that the Sammys and Hitachi drives are popular for hacking. The BenQ's are too new and harder to hack into. I wont state how it is done here so a simple google search should take u there.
