I had downloaded Austion powers free movie off the marketplace and that time I used HDMI cable the movie shows no captions at all. I know that all HDTVs will not play with CC when you use HDMI/componment cables. In Austin Powers movie doesn't have subtitle option. So I had already deleted the movie... and I realized that I should had tried with AV cable to see if it will show reg CC on TV? Does anyone know?

usually, the download movie do not provide cc/subtitle at all. You should read before download

MS don't warn us but many deaf gamers like us are already know about it.

Just like iTune, but... iTune blows Xbox 360...

So I should read before download? Ok I am going to read..... hmmmm where do I find that? Of course Microsoft never said anything relating to CC or subtitles. As for games.... all games doesnt stated it has subtitles on their cases. We had to risked it into buying a game and pray it does have subtitles. Most games does have subtitles but never said anywhere on the game's case box.

Well I save myself the trouble of finding out if a game I want to buy has subtitles...Most of the time the empty boxes at GameStop, Game Crazy or EBGames will have the instruction booklet in the case (without the disc of course) and I will thumb thru the pages focusing on Options section to see if I can get subtitles before buying the game. Saved me much trouble 90% of the time.

and M$ prides themselves on making Windows accessible for ppl with disabilities yet never bothered to do CC and subtitles for the 360 movie downoads...hypocrites :P

oh well, it's at least iTunes show features when I look up on movie and there is no cc or subtitle as I know it's not available at all. Maybe in future, it's up to studio not MS or Apple or whatever.

If you like game as I recall that Xbox 360 do offer demo or look up on website for more information if game have subtitle or not. And yet, there is no law that game is required. But I know that most Nintendo game always have friendly subtitle while third-party such as Resident Evil series don't. ARgh, don't you hate to miss the story about what going on?

Ask your Xbox 360 friends to check download movies to see if subtitles working on their television with different types of cable.

Yeah like signature said... research first before buy.

Yeah I always down every demos but not all games has demo mode. I already knew that the law does not required games and movies to have cc/subtitles. But it would be nice every games put down CC/subitles on the case box just like every Ugly DVDs, Ugly HD DVDs, and Amazing Blu Rays.
