Wolf and Dog Pup study info

Probably the type of people that typically get them aren't real good with dogs either. They've become a designer dog here.

yeah, true...I remember reading about that before. Here's some more info. about the Poodle's history as a water dog: Poodle Page

We see a lot of "Doodles' around here. They were originally a cross-breed from Australia meant to be working field dogs, not meant as the "family pets" typically seen today. Initially serious breeders urged people not to get them unless they were going to be working in the field. But they became popular as another "hypo-allergenic" possibility <not really an accurate concept> and people already enamored of Labs saw that in them and wanted one.
They are mixed breeds <nothing wrong with that> but- that people are paying a lot of money for, for dubious reasons. They come in all different sizes and shapes and coat types like any other mixed breed.

I also read that Standard Poodles tails where docked to show that where working dogs and the owners did not have to pay taxes on the dog.
I took a nap once and put my HA on the coffee table , when I woke up I could not find my HA! My hearing Dog Finlay who a Standard Poodle had picked up my HA and put it on his blanket to watch it for me. And there was not one tooth mark on my HA , Standard Poodles have a gentle bite so they won't bite the duck when carrying it. Poodle means puddle in German .

I almost got at Labradoodle

I read this bred was breed for someone that wanted a service dog as the person had allergies. The breeder was not happy that people started to cross breding difference breeds of dogs together and giving them weird names.

Nice! My pup isnt ready for ducks this year but i was thinking of letting her flush some grouse and woodcock. Should be fun!

Marty will point once in awhile and it's so cute ! He is a mini poodle mix and he has long legs and he lift one leg and point but I have no idea what he is pointing at as there is no animal , so I wonder if he hear an animal and is trying to tell me.

Could just be the scent he's pointing

There a hunting club in my city and I heard a person , I think it was a woman
that is trying to bring poodles back to hunting. Marty would love that but I do not hunt.

Yea I see a few in gun dog mag now and again. People are bring it back

I say I can't blame people wanting to hunt and grow their own food today .
Just look at what is being done to the food with all the GMO and farm raise fish and shrimps . I brought some farm raise shrimps from Market Bucket and when I got home and open the bay I almost :barf: because it smelled so horrible! I my car smelled awful as I put the bag in my car to bring it back.

Yea, food I get from the wild is all organic! Minus all the nasty pollution :eek3:

Sometimes my Lab used to point when he was on scent.

I read that too somewhere, whatdidyousay!, about the tails.

I try to avoid GMO food as much as possible. My diet is not mainstream/"SAD"<standard American diet> and I eat almost no meat.
My dogs, however, being carnivores, I feed them like this: Duck Recipe Photos

I also came across this general +RE <positive reinforcement> training site with some videos on it http://eileenanddogs.com/dog-body-language/ I liked of canine body language, which is one of my favorite topics. I have Brenda Aloff's Big Yellow Book "Canine Body Language, a Photographic Guide", which is one of my favorites.

I didn't see all the videos in the link above but the ones I did see, seemed to have good visuals and written text. Since I focused on watching the dogs I didn't look for captions.

OK , I was wondering why Marty was pointing , a lot of rabbits do hang out in the that spot . I think it interesting how my dogs point when they never been hunting. I guess I think you have to teach a dog to point , but it must be so engrain to the dog brain from years of being hunting dogs. Animals are amazing .

Our last rescue is a Poodle/Maltese. She is a definite bird dog and has been bringing live birds to my husband all summer.

He tries to get them from her without hurting the bird and the releasing it on the other side of the fence.

So she is a small but mighty hunter.

How do you know if the food is GMO as there nothing on the packages to let you know this. I do know that apples been taking awful to me lately and the skin is too touch to eat. Plus some apples are polish so much it looks like you could light the stems and use the apple from a candle. So maybe that is true about why dogs tails get docks.

certified organic <by 3rd party certifier like Oregon Tilth and others> by definition cannot be GMO. Some companies are also using the symbol on this website:Non-GMO Project to note that the item is not genetically modified or engineered.

I love apples but they are one of the most heavily sprayed fruits.
I usually avoid heavily polished/"perfect" -looking commercial apples. There's a reason why they look that way.

I bet your little Poodle/Malt. is quite proud of herself, Botti:)

I knew of a cat that would bring home live babies rabbits to his home and the owners would go crazy trying to find out where to bring the rabbit back to .

People use always say how proud Finlay looked by the way he walked with his head high and it looked like he was floating on air the way he would walk. God , I miss him like HELL!
