Wireless Dlink for VP

Hi,

I wonder if anyone knowledge with wireless dlink? I have problem with it, keep freezing for 3 to 5 secs on computer internet all the time and VP. But getting lost connection with VP. I knew something wrong with connect router and wireless. Can anyone help here? It pretty fed up to call Dlink, they re all forgeins people, relay kept don't understand them. Help! Help! LOL I know i'm :stupid: But never experience that before.

Hope anyone help me w/ it? :ugh2:
 
Are you sure it's a wireless issue? Can you plug in the VP to the router with a cable and see if things improve? If it does improve, then yeah, you'll have to change some settings or troubleshoot the VP, otherwise, it may not be a wireless issue, it could be the VP itself or the router or your internet connection. More troubleshooting is needed.

Your first step would be to plug in the VP to the router directly and see if that fixes the freezing. Test it a few times, then report back here.
 
yea, my computer internet keep freezing every 3 to 5 secs and VP both. I just got new VP from replace few weeks ago. I did reset dlink, and check wires unplug/ and plug back on. It same thing. Could be something wrong with dlink damage or wire isn't good. But someone mentioned, it could be do with my dlink information errors, or sharing networking w/ someone else. Which we tried to lock it, and couldn't able to make it locked. We even tried password, but it same thing. We do see people to use my networking. I don't know how to stop it. But hopefully connect to be fix somehow. Will have my boyfriend call dlink if he able understand forgein people's talk lol.

Use WEP feature. That would prevent outside people to access into your network .
 
Yup, something in WEP configuration isn't set correctly. I am not expert yet with wireless. I know enough about wired networked and stick to wired networking due to security issues.

If you use 2.4 Ghz wireless baud, it would be problem with other cordless phone from your neightbor. You might would want to change different baud of 2.4 Ghz, there is like 12 different setting such as... 2.412, 2.414, etc. As you would need to set up from the router's.

with DVC-1100?
 
well its newer dlink router DI-624 and gaming adapter DWL-G820. we will uninstall w cd and install cuz cant find file and keep say error and missing file. Will do that after weekend since, i am go out of town. Will update w u!

it was working for couple weeks, and all the sudden! could be dlink, and i fed up w freezing on my computer interent! Cant wait it to be fix!

Hmm. You install with CD? Wtf? I never use CD for that. I own router, Switch, and access point (super G). No problem so far.
 
change your wireless settings to channel 11 ( or anything other than 6).

Excellant.... Go to http://support.dlink.com/Emulators/di624_revC/ . That is almost like a real life and it is good guide. Anyway, after you get into this website, click WIRELESS button on the left side. You need to key in your SSID like SherryCherish or secret word. Do not forget it as you need that SSID in any laptop that would get into your network. Then highlight WEP in Security. Then change from 64Bit to 128Bit in WEP Encryption so that it would be more diffucult for any hacker to figure that out. Then key in whatever you like in 32 char length key. Not sure if you can combine number and alpha together but I use the numeric only. Warning... you must remember the key. After you are done with the emulator, then go to your live router and do what you learned on the emulator. If screwed, that is ok.. You can reset it by pinning on the back or side of the router to default back to the orginal factory settings. When all done in the router configation, then you must use the same SSID of the router in any laptop, desktop, or DVC-1100. I must warn you that DVC-1100 is not 100 percent realiable because it is not mature as it does not have the WEP feature. I do not know if it can pick up from the router that is set up with WEP. I do not find any WEP in DVC-1100 manual therefore you may have to contact any DEAF Tech in HOVRS because this VRS provider provides the DI-624 routers to the deaf customers for free.
