There is something even called the wet paint syndrome....prolly got its name from this saying.....its a form of paradox psychosis....when curiosity get a lil high.....

I have simple answer.

We saw stars too often in our lifetime before somebody informed you that there are billions of stars, and the response was "It does makes sense"

While, we all know paint can dry over time, the reason for checking them is because often "Wet Paint" sign don't have time stamp, and there is no way for one to know how long ago the post was posted so checking it out.

Same thing, we all know there are countless numbers of stars, and we too all know that paint do dry over time. Hence "Common sense".
