Why do conservatives hate sick people?

I think you know, but I'll bite. The first hit I got on google was:
Government, Military Corruption

Corruption, sure. At what scale? Dunno. Missing money doesn't mean it's went into somebody's pocket but could be burried somewhere else when dealing with tons of procurements. As for the $640 "toilet seat," it ended up costing $100 but it was never a toilet seat to begin with.
Adjusting the Bottom Line - TIME

there you go :)

wow, so you're a college freshman and 23 years old now? no biggie, I had a married freshman friend who was 27 when he entered college.

Yup, I will be 23 in Dec 20 so 22 for now so just one year to left to hit 24.

Ooohh, I see. yeah, you have one year left and after that you can be considered independent. W00T for you!

As for me...I have 4 years until I'm 24. >.<

North Pole will still be there.

I meant North Pole the ice sheet and was being very sarcastic at that time. I mean, y'know 40 years of that ice sheet being melted quicker due to Senior citizens producing *more* (idk:dunno:) methane (cattle is the real problem!..etc.) is funny to me, just because of all the disbelief over "global warming" and the uncertainty about the impact of the baby boomers.

On the serious side, the melting of the north pole is a very real political issue because it represents unclaimed land that countries have an interest in claiming.

Let's hope the North Pole will still be there because I think we all benefit more in not having it melt.

Yup, I wish that you are independent too due issues with your parent to being not cooperate with you to fill the FAFSA.

I will be student at Gallaudet University starting in July 2011 and will going play football too, used to play football in high school for 2 years and football manager for 1 year.

Prilosec is ineffective to me due severe heartburn so are many of anti-heartburn medicines since Nexium is most effective to me so results are varies from person to person.

Nexium and Prilosec are not same, they are work in different way and different side effects too that I experience with both of this medicines.

Baloney. Facts:

"Esomeprazole is the S-enantiomer of omeprazole (marketed as Losec/Prilosec), and AstraZeneca claims improved efficacy of this single enantiomer product over the racemic mixture of omeprazole. However, this greater efficacy has been disputed, with some claiming it offers no benefit from its older form."

"Esomeprazole and its metabolites are analytically indistinguishable from omeprazole and the corresponding omeprazole metabolites unless chiral techniques are employed."

"There has been some controversy about AstraZeneca's behaviour in creating, patenting and marketing of the drug. Esomeprazole's successful predecessor omeprazole is a mixture of two mirror-imaged molecules (esomeprazole which is the S-enantiomer, and R-omeprazole), and that the company was trying to "evergreen" its patent by patenting the pure esomeprazole and aggressively marketing to doctors that it is more effective than the mixture, claiming that omeprazole has no beneficial effects on the patient. However, in the acidic environment of the parietal cells both esomeprazole and omeprazole are converted to the same active drug which stops the gastric acid production."

Thomas A. Scully, head of the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services also criticized AstraZeneca for their aggressive marketing of Nexium. At a conference of the American Medical Association he went so far as to suggest that Astra was using the new drug to overcharge consumers and insurance companies. "You should be embarrassed if you prescribe Nexium," he claimed, "because you're screwing your patients and you're screwing the taxpayers."

Prilosec and Nexium are the same thing when metabolized. I think AstraZeneca just wants you to believe that it's better when in reality, it probably not any better than the old fashioned Prilosec.

Do NOT underestimate the power of suggestion - why do you think they used "purple?" Why do you think they try to imply that anything that's prescription is better and stronger for you? Their branding, literature, and choice of color is NO accident at all - it's a well planned marketing skill.

I feel the same with antidepressants - most are over-prescribed and many studies show no significant difference between placebos and treated groups.

I had a serious ucler and was prescribed Prilosec but TWICE the recommended dose and it works. It won't work if I take it only at recommended dose. Studies have done on people who took a few times the recommended dose and found no safety concerns and that it works fine.

Certainly an eye-catching title for a thread. Then I start to read: acid reflux....college financial aid....military corruption....global warming....

It's crazy how threads get all twisted around, isn't it?

Conservatives prefer Coke simply because they're immune to sickness

Sorry, I disagree with you.

Every patients are different based on effective of drugs, severity of side effects and work in different way.

:laugh2:

Donkeys can't handle as much coke as elephants can. Damn lightweights.

Netrox, are you an organic chemist or something? I find it interesting that no matter what the enantiomers or chiral differences, those two chemicals were able to perform same function to inhibit the proton pump from producing gastric acid.

I was taught that "structure = function" and that enantiomers and chirality can affect the chemical's functions, but then, maybe those two drugs were able to perform the same thing but produce different side effects or responses?

In bold, yes, both of drugs have different side effect and effectiveness.

I took both of Prilosec and Nexium so Prilosec is ineffective to me since Nexium is one of most effective in PPI.
