Why Can’t Middle-Aged Women Have Long Hair?

I have seen the poodle look here. More often we see the Helmet Head. It is huge, round and sprayed super hard with bargain hair spray. It will sometimes touch the headliner of the womans pick up truck. Just a note, these women do not remove the cigarette from their mouth when they curse the traffic.

As for me, I was teased into cutting my hair. I am so sad about it. I am letting it grow back. I can almost make a french twist.

Really? my grandmother had a long hair and she did not let it down instead she put her hair alike bundle (dont know the word for it) alike old lady. I have a long hair, right now I braid it for work. I rather to cut it real short. I guess I am bored with it already. I had a long hair since 14. Many time my hair had been cut short then it grew fast longer then cut then it grew fast. Now it is back to long hair. I am almost 50 and did some frosting to make it more alike blonde and white mix. I am going to cut my hair short soon. It grew alike 5 inches since July.

I think I've seen those helmet hairdos. I don't care much for it but I know what you mean.

I rarely ever use hair spray unless I want to twist my hair into weird shapes like horns and so on.

I never use hairspray on my hair.

However, I keep a small can of cheap brand hairspray available with my cleaning products. It's an excellent way to remove ballpoint ink stains from laundry and upholstery. :D

Do you mean "bun?"

My grandmothers and great-grandmothers wore their long hair in buns for many years. My grandmothers finally got short haircuts when they were in their 60's but they never got poodle perms. They preferred softer waves.

Soooo, that what people did before Magic Eraser exist.

Up until me grandmother died at age 87, she had long hair. By the time she died it was down to her ankles. She kept it braided and wrapped into a crown around her head. She would brush it out in the evening and sleep in 2 long braids, then in the morning, she would wash it, then braid it and coil it up in a crown. This was daily since her childhood. Luckily, it was thin. As for the length, it seemed long, but it was actually only 4.5 feet long. She was 4'9".

My other grandmother always had short hair. She was brought up that only the "bad girls" had long hair. :giggle:

I do not like the smell of hairspray. We use to stale beer in our hair when we were younger , the beer made your hair look better you .

Bun as it is. Really about your grandmothers and great-grandmothers. My grandmother never cut her hair short but my other grandmother always had a short hair but she used bobbin pins to curl her hair and put scarf over her head for night then next day she got nice soft waves alike yours.
