Why are you invisible or visible?

Interesting. A visiable user assumed an invisible user hides anything from users. Well, not all invisiable users hide something/anything. :)

Here's my reason for choosing an invisible mode.

1* Strangers don't need to know whenever I am log in or log off.
2* I hate stalkers.
3* My opinion, it's reall none of their business to know if I am online or not.

Thing is.... Once you post... they know you are online.

Yes, that's right. But you still can't tell if you are going to post (some of to lot of) comments once they know you are online. :)

Sorry for not reply sooner. SK kicked me out and it wouldn't let me to visit alldeaf. So I restarted my sidekick and left it in a while. Sorry about that.
 
I do go back and forth on the invisible /visable mode:giggle: ok, I am :crazy: :laugh2::D
 
Most of time i am online but when i feel invaded, i go invisible.
 
I vote I don't care but I would have to be careful not to fall into the trap of someone using me or trying to hurt me, then I would consider going into invisibile to be safe. Right now I don't care and I can knock on wood that I am doing fine online. I am being honest with everyone here on AD about the topics we discussed. :D
 
Some have told me in the past before this thread, that there's this thing about deaf culture that's really interesting.

Every other deafie on the net seems to know another deafie somehow, be it from another deaf forum or another community. As it is said, it is "a small word" after all.

Bad relationships and friendships that turn sour, since the community isn't so widespread, you have less options available for keeping up with a community. So that's how I can understand how the "stalking" thing might work, to retain anonymity.

I do understand what you are saying.... But that only works, if a person stays indivisible, and not post.

Once a person post!! The screen name pops up!!!

I am speaking of this forum only.

I can understand your statement on being on "My Space" or what not.

Hiding your identity unless, someone knows of your last name or such.

As for this forum. Hiding your identity is silly if you are posting.

Reason being... Once you post. You are exposed.

Go figure!!!

;) that's the only time I have ever used/said that word.. in grade school hahaha ! just kidding with ya!

I know where you are coming from.
Once you post, the anonymity is dropped, anyone can guess out another's post time frame. So it is like a temporary thing until you disappear back into the shadows.

:laugh2: That's true. I don't know why i keep my online as invisible mode yet i still post it here. I only like it to be hiding whenever i log on or log off so no one don't expect me to post as to when such as NOW or LATER. :giggle:
