Did you noticed that in terms of warmth we're not even close to the Medieval period? Or even in the previous periods going back thousands of years? Interesting when you start to scale things accordingly that our 0.6 C degree upward change over a short amount of time (geologically speaking) is but barely, barely a blip. And we have people running around playing chicken little over that little blip.

Exactly, Yiz. Which is why I'm more in favor of term limit for members of Congress. They end up way too powerful who think that it's the people who work for him/her and not the other way around.

Nice nose for Gore. Very apt. The greatest hoax ever perpetuated on humankind into scaring people thinking CO2 is the most evil of all atmospheric gases. I'm sure people and plants are dying because of too much CO2.

Oh? Then why do you think the scientists made it seem like a bigger thing than it actually was? I believe that global warming exists, but I do not believe that things will happen as drastically or as quickly as he proclaimed. Your country's biggest export is media, and a lot of money is made off of it. If a former vice-president made a documentary about the effects of global warming, people would buy it. People did. It allowed for other medias to pick up the idea and make money off people's fear and vulnerability as well. This isn't just my opinion... I know a couple other people who have this theory as well.

Yes. Many were in cahoot to make global warming (as supposedly caused by man) appear to be a bigger problem for mankind when it isn't. It never was. That's the thing you do not get. If you look at my previous graphs you can see just how small of heat increase (if that is the case) compared to previous years going back to the Medieval Warm Period, and the Holocene Period you can see that today's temperature increase is relatively small. There's a much better correlation with the sun's energy output with that of temperature change than it is with CO2 concentration over time.

Gore's "documentary" was proved to be false in many respect. He made numerous, glaring errors.

Not sure what you meant when you say that the U.S. biggest export is the media.

No, I do think that global warming is occurring... I just don't think that global warming is going to happen near as quickly as Gore and many others predicted. It's hard for you to get people to believe you when you say that global warming isn't going to happen when you have no scientific background.

I am agreeance with you when you say he made numerous errors throughout his documentary. I mean, the whole state of Florida being flooded because of the glaciers melting? :roll: Just recently, a study came out saying that by 2100 the ocean levels will have only gone up by 1.9 metres. It would only affect someone if they built their house 1.9 metres from where the tide usually flows.

I did not say "the media", I said media. Media is everything from TV shows, to movies, to internet, to news. You guys export a lot of it. I'd say that about 85% of my programming is your TV shows.

The Earth has been warming up ever since the last ice age came to an end some 12,000 years ago where we had glaciers that moved south roughly down to the northern states, geographically speaking.

Yes, there is global warming occurring, there is also global cooling, too, occurring. As with history climate will continue it's up and down fashion with no help from us mere mortal, puny human beings.
 
glaciers melting? Sure. All of them melt or sublime that causes them to retreat but more importantly many are still advancing. There are even a glacier that formed inside the volcano of Mt. St. Helens and it continues to advance....inside the crater of an active volcano!

No worry about glaciers melting. You'd have to have the whole continent of Greenland glaciers and ice to melt completely to give us that dramatic rise in ocean level but that takes a long, long time. The North pole ice? If it melts completely, it won't raise the ocean level at all.

Dust, volcanic materials from an eruption, especially. Look up Mt. Pinatubo and how it affected world wide temperature for a few years that caused a slight cooling effect. Volcano eruptions are a big unknown factor and that any number of them could erupt explosively like another Krakatoa which was much, much bigger that Mt. St. Helens.
