When a turbo is not really a turbo....

That's a great picture of the tri power GTO engine I had, it was a ws block(xs was the ram air version).

I had repainted it with the original factory paint. They are worth a lot of money today(a lot more than I would spend for one).

On topic: Of the 2000 tri power GTOs that were made there are not 10,000 on the road(it's not a joke, think after-market parts).

Sadly, there are a lot of cars built around a thrush muffler.

When they came out with the '77 Trans Am and the Camaro Z28's, I liked them, but later on, these kinds of people ruined their reputation:

I recalled I ground the Pontiac 455CID crankshafts in my teenager days at the engine rebuilding company, the main journals are very large diameter ever I measured. I can't recall if those 445 cranks have over 4 inch stroke. Large motors in 70's, beefy torque. I drove in a 1970ish Firebird (customer's car), what I felt this car is like my head thrusted back on the head rest of the seat when you hit a gas pedal. Very beefy torque. I remember the gas mileage was about 10 mpg or less, was easy on the gas pedal cuz the gas price were too high (in 1976). I like oldie Firebirds/GTOs w/455 motors.

gotta get one if i see a 455 in NZ...sounds rare though...
