Marlee Matlin is definitely a snob. Though I admire her for her successes and more, I do know that she's too far gone in the world of Hollywood to come back as part of the common citizenry.
Her roasting of Donald Trump may be funny in some accounts, but she doesn't realize that successes are not rested upon the abilities of each individual. It rests upon the persistence, the will, and the strength to endure, persevere, and accomplish your dreams, no matter how big or small.
So what if she raised millions for Starkey to give to Africa? The point is, Marlee Matlin's fame and glory are dissipating along with those who are getting older. Fame comes at the price of 15 minutes, glory at the price of 1 minute. It just doesn't last forever. She needs to realize that while she may have raised millions, acted in films, and stood among the hearing people, there's more than just raising millions.
But suit yourself. And if anyone attacks your opinion, it's because they're not respecting your opinion. Do not be fearful and ask everyone never to attack it. Consider it an oppportunity to bolster your defense, lay out your argument, and show that you are confident, vigilant, unwilling to back down from your line of thinking but do remember that you are not the only one who can present sharp, accurate points but others can. Agree to disagree when possible.
Not everyone's opinions are always the same.

That's why we have the word individualism.
