Whatever You Do, Don't Open That Bedroom Door....

LONDON (Reuters) - A British house-buyer got more than they bargained for after the discovery of a badly decomposed body in an upstairs bedroom of their new home, the Daily Telegraph said Monday.

The newspaper said the skeletal remains may have been in the 98,000 pounds ($180,300) derelict house in Birmingham, central England, for at least two years and had escaped detection despite complaints from neighbors about a bad smell.

The odor was blamed on rubbish, including dead pigeons, that had accumulated while the property was empty.

The dead man, who has not been identified, is thought to have been a vagrant. His death is not thought to be suspicious.

:wtf:

Wow... You mean those peeps bought the house without even checking the 2nd floor??? Wowza...*smh*

It reminds me of one case somewhere in US some years ago that a house was up for auction and a family, including small children, bought it. The problem is, nobody ever checked inside the house, not even real estate staff. @_@ You guessed it...a decaying remains of a man was found sitting on the rocking chair in the middle of a room where he had gone undetected for over a year.

You can imagine the reaction of those who saw it, of course. ^_^;;;

(Wish I could provide the link to this case, though.)

Make a note. When you have foul odors coming from your neighbors house, it can't be good. You always see these stories where the neighbors say 'There was a funny smell coming from there'. It never turns out to be a bouquet of flowers.

Humans smell all of the time, alive or dead :o

Ya think the real estate people knew about that and gave them a small discount?

At any rate...ewwwww.

Quite possible, it will be huge discount if the previous owners were MURDER in this household!! :devil:

oh boy..... Realtors need to check the inside of the house first before sell or auction it... That why every time we go look for a house, I always check every room to make sure theres no dead bodies or anything weird..
