What is your career dream and how far are you in achieving that goal?

My Career objective is to become a Network Administrator or IT Manager. So far I only have two courses left to graduate for Associates in Computer Network Engineering. I am currently in outlook for another job to build my career while I finish my courses for Associates. My next step is to eventually study for Bachelor's, possibly in Computer Science or Information Systems.

Tell me yours!

To enter the law enforcement field. Forensic science crime lab or something that will be good that I will enjoy plus support my family and be finanically secure. I am also looking at career fields that will be good in both good and bad times.
Think , The Great Depression & then think which jobs will be good in both good and bad economic times. :)

Sounds good! Are you attending school or college that can help you to achieve that goal?

My dream career would be as a session or touring bassist. Session artists are the musicians who play on recordings and at concerts with solo artists (such as a singer like Britney Spears, or a famous guitarist, like Carlos Santana). Playing bass has been one of my top passions ever since my sophomore year of high school. Although I haven't practiced in the areas I should have (sight reading, and ear training), I've still mastered several different techniques, such as slap, pick, and finger, and have even created my own. If I were to pursue such a career, it would take me years of catching upto to become among the likes of famous session bassists such as Tony Levin or Victor Wooten. For now, I am satisfied playing bass as a hobby. As of now I'm saving up for a specific bass that costs over $1500.

That's cool! I also play accoustic guitar for Church, and I prefer to play guitar for my hobby and Church. I think you might want to go and check if there is any school or college that can help you into boosting yourself up for that career objective. That sounds very interesting!

Gallaudet University or NTID but I am also looking at hearing colleges too as well.

I highly recommend NTID. I used to attend RIT to major in Electronic Engineering, but left due to uncertainity in my career objective. And my another suggestion is to learn Literature as much as you possibly can. Try and use them in real life, including AllDeaf. They will pay off eventually in your life and will help you superbly in your career objective as a criminal scientist. (reports reports!!)

My dream career is the CEO of a major tech business, the businesses more specifically being a computer hardware manufacturer that also does other consumer products. Kind of like Dell or HP.

In two years and one quarter I will have my BS in Information Technology and three quarters after that I will have my MBA.

That is a great accomplishment!! I know of a Division director of IRS branch in Tennessee that is deaf. I'm sure you will be able to achieve such a great feat!

I wouldn't want to reach that FAR, too much headache for me. :)

Very cool. Its always awesome to see deafies getting involved with music. There are some musical programs available around the country, most notably Berkeley, out in California, but its not like they offer a degree in bass guitar instruction or session playing. It mostly comes down to talent and who you know. As for now, hobby is perfectly AOK with me. When I move to a new town, I may try to find a new band to play with. And who knows? Maybe that band will be something I could make a career out of. Sadly, the music business is more about who you know, rather than who you are.
Carpe Diem!

My dream is to be a film director, I did get a college degree in tv and learned more film in Memphis... And learn about Independent film from gay instructor, he is very nice.

But I am making excuses and blaming people.... Cause I'm too lazy to make film.

I like being on SSI and will get food stamp soon.

*yawn* I'm taking me a nap.

My goal is chef...
Right now I'm part time job... Prepare foods/line cook/dishwasher...
I'm willing take course for chef... at Fanshawe College in St Thomas, Ontario which it's brand new building.. :D I'll apply and to see if approval and will get diffculites an interpreter provide.

Credentialed Special Ed teacher. If I can get my finances straightened out a little better, I might be able to pull it off in 2 or 3 years. As a matter of fact, I have a test tomorrow for a job as a paraeducator (fancy way of saying teacher's aide) with the Ventura County School District. Wish me luck. :fingersx:
