What is Massachusetts law on quarantine a dog

that bit another dog. The dog that bit Marty has his rabies shots but I thought a dog still had to be quarantine for 10 in my state. My dog is update on of his shots. I just spoke the owner of the dog on the phone and she said her dog is not being quarantine .
 
You need to ask Animal Control about the quarantine laws. I know that if a dog bites a human it's more likely to be quarantined than when it bites another dog.

I know of a of dog that was quarantined for biting another dog in my small city . I wonder if each city it has difference laws on this. The dog that bit Marty lives in another city so I have no idea how the law work in this case.
I called my ACO yesterday to find out if the dog been quarantined and he left me a message saying he didn't know. I am going to call my ACO up on Monday. The ACO for the dog that bit Marty never called me back. I left 3 messages for that ACO.
 
I thought they only have to be quarantined if the owner can't prove they had shots. You are lucky it and Marty are both up to date.

Vicious dog laws could get it restricted, but maybe you don't have those out there?

I am not sure if we do , yeah Marty was lucky the other dog was up to date too. I just hope the woman does not bring her dog back to my city until it trained and has a proper fitting collar on .
 
My own dog was bitten by a dog whose vaccines were out of date. However, they were not far out of date (like a few months). Given that even a one year rabies lasts longer than a few months past the vaccination date, I wasn't worried. Rabies vaccines in the US are so good that the chances of a vaccinated dog contracting rabies is really really low.* Just make sure that you have proof from her vet (not from her) of her dog's vaccination status.

The vaccinated dog would probably have to be bitten by a small colony of bats while in a bat cave breathing in bat spit while bat menstruation gets sprinkled into into the cuts caused by the bats feeding on the dog, to get rabies while vaccinated. But seriously, I don't think there's been a case of rabies transmitted by a dog bite to a human in 30 years, and your dog's risk in this situation of being bitten by a rabid dog would be the same as if you had gotten bitten by the dog and your risk of contracting rabies is actually higher, since you're probably unvaccinated.
