Why so upset with Ducky for looking shocked at the awful things Cappy said to you in several previous posts??

Sorry, no it wasn't. I was more shocked at the comments that Cappy made and how pent up his anger was when he responded to yours.

I'm so confused...
 
I think, each person has a different interpretation. A person who makes good money a job that pays $18.00 -$23.00 an hour. Also, depends on job position as well.

If you are talking about monthly salary like nurse for example $3,000-$4000 a month that's good money. Director of a company makes a good income .

I'd pick the 20 hours option. I want to donate my time to make a difference in the world. I want to volunteer. I want to go out and support people, create things, and live a productive, fulfilling, wholesome life.

I don't want to spent 80 hours a week in a cubicle slaving away. My relationships are what truly make me happy. If I sit in a cubicle 80 hours, I'm not going to see the people I care about. I'm going to suffer burnout and my whole quality of life will drop. I'd have a lot of money and would be miserable. And when someone's miserable, they often spread that miserableness to others. That's not an impact I want to have.

Being "rich" / having "good money" is relative. I think the person in the first option is far richer than the person in the second option.

Not only that, the 80 hours a week for $500,000 is working to make money and thats it. No time to play so what's the point of making a lot of money if one cant enjoy it?

HOWEVER, there is the other perspective...some people are willing to work 80 hours at $500,000 for 15 years , save all that money, and retire early. That option I would do if I was given it at 20 years old but I am 44 years old and I make no where near $500,000 a year. So that means I will continue to work 35 hours a week until in my 60s and retire.
 
Some people works long hours to made sure their family is taken care of when they die .This was very common when I was growing up , men worked long hours for their families . People weren't afraid of work then.

People aren't afraid of work NOW. Many still have to work 2-3 jobs just to stay afloat. My friend has done that for years to provide for herself and her 2 kids. I'm not afraid of work... but seems people are afraid to HIRE!

People still work long hours to make sure family is taken care of now because the min wage and COL suck while everything else goes up and up and up. It's been proven working longer hours is not beneficial healthwise but people can't afford not to work more than 80 hours a week or 2,3 or 4 jobs.
 
Yeah, it depends on the person. I do think there are people who cannot handle over 40 hours of work because it is exhausting. I think it's important to make sure you are handling it in a healthy way by not neglecting yourself.

Hiring managers are so picky nowadays.
 
I know a guy who sleeps 5 hours every night. He is fine. It is not for everyone. Medical articles indicate that some people sleep less hours than others. It has something to do with gene mutations. Every body is different.
 
In Maryland, making $100K isn't even considered rich.
