a certified hearing aid specialist? (aka dispenser) THIS is something I think I could do and would be good at since I have been wearing an aide since I was 5. Would love to hear ANY input!:ty:

I think it is a great idea. Go for it. To have someone that is a long time HA wearer would already have the understanding. Of what it is like to wear hearing aids plus you might benefit from it to know the newest models etc.

Cool !

If you are going down this path, just make sure that you have the consumer's best interest at heart and not looking out for the bottom line.

There is nothing worse than a HA dispenser telling one "get the Miracle-Ear!"

I would never do that! I have been searching *m*

for a long time on ways that I can help other people. I would LOVE to help other hard of hearing, deaf person as I understand their world, etc

I just don't know how to go about it? Or even what the salary is?

It's a great idea. My dispenser is ever so patient. I've been going to him for over 5 years. He is a hearie who wears hearing aids to see how it feels and to check out the new ones. you would be able to wear the latest and greatest and distinguish between b.s. and truth.

Thanks for the input! However, does anyone *m*

know how I go pursuing this?? I can't seem to find anything about education for these field. All I find is information about taking the exam. I don't think I am quite ready for that yet:laugh2:
