What a save!...in Drag racing..

I saw the tire speed ahead does that count as part of the car?

I just happen to notice the left dragster (yellow one), when he fire up and suddenly you see the flame spurt out to his left side of the body! Watch carefully starting at the 44 seconds mark...

There's no better save than the Randy Mamola save.

ah yes Randy Mamola was king of wild riding in the 80's thru the 90s (not sure when he retired from GP racing), he was one of my fav rider, he RODE in the WET!, same as Kevin Schwartz! who rode an RGV500 like theres no tomorrow
ah yes i noticed the 500 triple, then they went to fours as a 'big bang' motor single crank- that was a wild bike too.

When Mamola fell off the bike, the commentator had the best line ever... "And its back to the pits for a quick change of underwear for Mamola."

I grew up on the Schwantz/Rainey battles. Their battles were epic.

yup...Rainey was excellent too, shame he got paralyised...I liked Lawson/Gardner battles and Roberts/Sheene all the others were short lived...

Here's another GREAT save.

He had already blown a cylinder or two from tire spin. He was already beaten.

Dixon's tire crossed the finish line first. I guess that's a win!

I have tickets for me and my son in law to attend the Z-Max NHRA drags in Charlotte, NC April 19-20. Can't wait!

Hahaha but you know that's not how drag racing really works. It's all about better times. It don't always matter who crosses the line first. We are all always waiting for them to post the time to see who won!

On April 19-21, we will be attending the MotoGP races here at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA). I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for this race to happen. 17 more days to go.
