Instructions on how to do one-click relay SPEED-DIAL icon on your Windows desktop, for frequently dialed phone numbers:

  1. Right-click on your Windows Desktop
  2. Select NEW -> Shortcut
  3. COPY & PASTE this web address:
    Code:
    https://www.hiprelay.com/cgi-bin/quickcall.exe?m=[b]NNNN[/b]&p=[b]XXXXXXXXXX[/b]&q=N
  4. Replace the NNNN in above web address with your first name (letters only, no spaces or punctuation).
  5. Replace the XXXXXXXXXX in above web address with any 10-digit phone number. Numbers only.
  6. Click Next> and then type in a name for the icon. Click Finish.
  7. DONE! You now have a one-click relay SPEED-DIAL on your Windows desktop!
Try it! One-click speed dial icon on your Windows Desktop!
(albiet only via Hamilton IP Relay, at this time).
The CA then now already knows your name and the phone number you want to dial.

AT&T/MCI/Sprint, please read this:

To AT&T/MCI/Sprint: At the moment, this speed dial trick doesn't work with your online relay services, I need your relay websites to support embedding phone numbers inside web addresses. (This also allows bookmarking phone numbers inside Internet Explorer Favourites, and also for one-click dialing from Microsoft Outlook.)

Thanks!

Hi,

Sprint Relay Online now allows phone numbers inside URL's:
http://www.sprintrelayonline.com/sro_button.htm

You will have to activate the Smart Button feature to decipher the URL format, then after you do that you can substitute the preferred phone number in place of the phone number embedded inside the Sprint Relay Online URL.

Providers that still have not yet provided support for URL-based dialing:
- AT&T Relay Call system
- MCI's IP-Relay.

The exact format of the HTML in the internet link is:

Code:
http://www.sprintrelayonline.com/index.htm?ntd=15555555555
(for example, calling 1 (555) 555-5555)

I'm asking the Sprint guy if he can make a shortcut generator for Sprint Relay Online. I use some common numbers (i.e., voicemail retrieve) and want to add instructions to them automatically.
