Web graphic design jobs

Why is it hard for deaf people to find the computer jobs even though they have plenty of skills?
I have an idea. Why don't we get together (video, IT, movie, graphic designer etc) and form our own small company (somewhere). The world can see we can do all the works that hearing world can. What do you think?
 
My friend has a Master's degree in Web Design or something like that and he is working two jobs as a residence counselor for a group home and a dorm counselor at a deaf school. He said many companies wont hire him simply because he cant talk on the phone. The phone excuse again? How does that kind of job have phone duties?
 
I'm a graphic designer, I work at a regional media division of a giant corporation.
