We forgot something pretty important...

Well, maybe not too important. Anyway, my husband told me, and I just realized that nobody mention it anymore, even though it is not too long ago. Does anyone remember how Shuttle Columbia went to pieces over Texas...and it is EXACTLY two years ago from this very day when it happened? I can still remember it and it still felt like it was very recent.

My, how times flies by....
 
oh yeah...I almost forgot about that too.

nearly two years ago? you know you are right...time does fly by REALLY fast it's really creepy too lol
 
wow!! I totally forgot all about that! it seems that i can't keep track of anything that goes on anymore.. sheesh!! is it early stages of dementia or something?? : :Ohno:

Lordy! :eek: You're right. I didn't realize it had been two years already. On a similiar note, did you all know it's been nearly 19 years since Challenger blew up?

Time does fly.

I'm not sure, but I believe Challenger exploded in March, 1986? I was in HS when it happened.

*GASP* :shock: that has been about 19 years ago? Hoo boy. I can remember the day when I was in NTID and heard about how the Challenger blew up. Yet it doesn't feel like such a long time ago..... 0_o

I remember being in high school library when that came out. I was senior in HS. 19 years since I graduated from HS!! Soon it will be time for 20th reunion. *ACK*

On a serious note, thanks, Toones, for reminding me. I didn't realize it was 2 years ago today.

but today is feb. 1st.. so which day did it really happen? i guess ill do a little research...

EDIT: you are right.. it did happen on jan. 28th, 1986 :D

I really know it is january 28th 1986 cuz i recently visited her grave last fall in Concord New Hampshire.

my brother was born 8 days earlier before the Challenger was destoryed.
 
I remembered it today, Columbia and last Friday, Challenger. I remembered Challenger blew up and my co-worker lost his uncle on that space shuttle. I never forgot cuz it was my son's birthday. I took pix of them when I was working at the AFB and got to see them landing.
 
I know that sounds dumb, but I don't know what "Challenger" means because it happened in 1986....that means I was just 3 years old and I don't have any idea what yall are talking about Challenger, will anyone tell me about it ?????

The reason the Challenger was such a tragedy not only because of the death of all the seven member crew, but Christa McAuliffe herself was a teacher who hoped to learn something about this shuttle trip so she can come back to teach all about it to the children in her classroom. She never got an opportunity because she died along with the crew. :(

At first, I have no idea what you guys were talking about until you posted the links. Ahhh, I remember now. Wow like what you guys said, time does fly. I remember when I was young, teacher got all of us (kids) to watch the TV and we were astounded by that live explosion when it happens.
