IF you happen got virus that you clicked from one of the link, please do report to Alex and he can remove it. So no one else can afftect it. It is not fun to clean it everything out! So I would suggest you to that for safer side. :)

I would report to Alex and remove the post right away if it does happen to me. I don't want to see anyone get virus and not able to get online for few days to weeks and we'll miss ya!
 
Grin, why do Window users feel compelled to inform us Mac users that it is always a mistake to buy a Mac? We don't have to worry about viruses as much as Windows users do.

I've nothing against Windows and I do have a Windows computer but I'm partial to my Mac. :D

That said, Macs arent 100% virus proof but they're far less likely to get infected.

Windows users,
It is your responsibility to protect your computer with anti-virus and anti-spyware software and they are supposed to be updated to the latest.

You have to develop habit to run windows update more often.

Turn on popup blockers

installed anti-phising software (toolbar by netcraft is highly recommended (see my signature below.)

Use other browsers than Microsoft IE!

I forgot something to add to above... that is...

McAfee SiteAdvisor: Protection from Adware, Spam, Viruses, Online Scams | McAfee SiteAdvisor It is good addon for your FireFox.. their website says "We test the Web to help keep you safe from spyware, spam, viruses and online scams."

I am aware that Netcraft anti-phising toolbar is not compatible for FireFox 2.x but 1.5.x but that's okay since FF 2.x has anti-phising built-in

The virus were coming off from one of adult sites. It is very common, and not much you could do. I got hit, my gut feeling was telling me NOT to click, but out of my curiousity I clicked. CHAMP! That trojan virus took over my PC! I should have use my Linux based PC so I won't get hit. grin! (I have Windows based PC and Linux based PC next to each other... gee!)

Linux isn't easier to learn.
 
Well, what I like about Linux is that it requires password for any installation!!! That makes it harder for virus writer to get in Linux and install the virus... all due that the writer have no friggin idea what your password is.,.. I wish Micro$oft would do the same thing.

Bill Gate was "retired" from M$! He is busy in Africa or somewhere.

I don't think MAC requires pwd, but I could be wrong. I haven't touch apple for more than 20 years.
