Walk to benefit deaf and hard of hearing
The Sound and Silence Run and Walk is back for a ninth year to benefit the Island Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre.
The May 27 event, presented by Island Hearing, begins at the Lochside Trail at Island View Road and offers a 10-kilometre run, a 10-kilometre walk or a five-kilometre walk.
Walkers start at 8:30 a.m. and runners at 9 a.m. Participants range from elite runners and joggers to walking-club members and Island Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre clients and supporters.
Entry is $25 until May 21, and $35 from May 22 until race day. Sign up at Frontrunners. Race-day entry at the event site is $40. --TC staff
