VP debate moderator Ifill releasing pro-Obama book

She has to be replaced in favor of more neutral moderator like Jim Lehrer. Mr. Lehrer did great job in moderating in the last week's Presidential debate.

I cannot imagine why she should be allowed to moderate while writing a pro-Obama book.

I want to make it so clear that I have nothing against Obama but it is so wrong to have a clearly biased moderator to moderate in the VP Debate.

In addition, I have experience in helping the committee choosing a right and unbiased moderator at Gally and in Deaf communities.

Well, McCain's camp. asked her to go easy on Palin over foreign policy issues.

McCain Camp to Ifill: Go Easy on Palin (VIDEO)

The rumor claimed that McCain want to postpone Palin's VP Debate... I check with snope.com or FactCheck.org but none confirm the rumor... *shrug*

Oh well...

It's too early for me to judge either a moderator is a neutral or not... I rather not say anything until after VP debate then....

If the rumor is not confirmed, why post it? Just to stir things up?

Huh? Are you looking for an argument when I ALREADY said that "none confirm the rumor" that McCain want to postpone Palin's VP Debate without take the rumor serious?

There're plenty of rumors in different medias at websites over McCain want to postpone Palin's VP Debate.

Is it necassary to accuse me like that because I want to share my general post what I know from the rumor thru websites and check with snope.com and FactCheck.org...

Who stir things up? Of course YOU, not me.

The Huffington Report is a biased LIBERAL media. It is the one that created a false article about Sarah Palin regarding to special education funding cuts and it was completely rebuked by the FactCheck.org and unbiased and reliable sources.

oh - oh !! « GretaWire

The McCain campaign did not know about the book until they were recently told. I agree with Greta that they should be told before they agreed to have Gwen Ifill moderated.

It sure sounds like a ranting to me and it is important for you to express your feelings against the Republicans. I am telling you that I don't expect them to take control of Congress from Democrats on November 4th.

We should go back to this topic.

None of media/news are bias-free.

It was no secret that she was writing a book about Obama and the politics of race, especially in this election.

McCain campaign obviously didn't know about it which leads to the conclusion that they aren't doing their homework on who is going to be moderating or researching on topics.

It does not matter what they have done, but I want to point out that Ifill was not straightforward with the Presidential Debate Commission about the book.

The host of PBS’ “Washington Week” and senior correspondent on “The NewsHour” said she did not tell the Commission on Presidential Debates about the book. The commission had no immediate comment when contacted by The Associated Press. A spokeswoman for John McCain’s campaign did not immediately return phone and e-mail messages.

Even though McCain said he's fine with the moderator because she's a professional, this: 1. Remains to be seen. 2. I think she should have gone to both camps and informed them. 3. She stands to make a profit from this.

With what link?

The one that you provided in the first post? If so, that is a biased link as it is one-sided.

The link that I provided, Yahoo news--tends to be straightforward.

As for Ifill....no one has an issue with it, neither Obama nor McCain.

I cannot agree with you more.

Let's hope she will handle it professionally and unbiased.

Let's move on.

I am not speaking of the Yahoo! News article. I am speaking of that her non-admission about her book.

How can it be biased and one-sided since she said she did not tell the Presidential Debate Commission about the book? She said it, period.

Re: Link in your first post in terms of being one-sided and biased.

Secondly--they knew she was writing a book, she just hasn't completed the Obama chapter yet.
