CORNELIUS, N.C. -- A Cornelius dentist stripped of his license for the appalling things he did to his female patients five years ago is asking to practice again.

When we last saw Dr. John Hall, it was May 2005 and he was doing his best to get away from our cameras.

"Why wouldn't you apologize?" we asked. He refused to answer any questions following his plea hearing.

The only trial Hall would get came from the North Carolina Dental Board.

"I said, 'My God, that smelled like semen,'" one victim said during the trial.

In May 2005 Hall pleaded guilty to using syringes and squirting his semen into the mouths of some of his female patients.

We talked to one of them Thursday night who did not want to be identified. "He's really sick and twisted. He feels no remorse for what he did. It's like he has no conscience."

Hall has been living in Jacksonville, Fla., since his conviction. At last report he was in the tile business and renting an apartment. It's a far cry from when owned a $2 million house and ran a lucrative cosmetic dental practice in Cornelius.

Last month he applied for reinstatement to the same North Carolina Dental Board that pulled his license. The board swiftly shot him down.

Hall has never admitted any wrongdoing and denied the allegations when he testified before the board in August 2004.

"I have never injected semen in any patient's mouth, ever," Hall had said during testimony.

This process has brought back some unpleasant memories for everyone.

"He thinks he can jump right back in and practice somewhere else," the victim said. "It's like we owe it to him. He has this strange sense of entitlement."

Hall took what's known in legal circles as an Alford plea. It enables you to plead guilty to a criminal charge without admitting wrongdoing. As far as his dental license is concerned, Hall has the right to appeal. There is no word on whether he intends to do so.
