Hey guys!

I know some of you said vga better than component.

It is a fact that component is better than VGA.

I had some research for my new tv, Sony.

With the updated dashboard the 360 can send up to a 1080p signal over the component cables.

New Features

* HD 1080p video mode support over VGA and component cables.
* Xbox 360™ HD DVD Player support.

CNET Review
Xbox 360 performance: We also tried playing a couple of video games on the Sony with our Xbox 360--Dead or Alive 4 and Prey--and the picture looked excellent. We didn't notice any delay from controller to screen whether or not the set's Game mode was engaged. With composite-video, turning Game mode on did have the effect of softening the picture considerably, obscuring details in the ridges of one of the guns in Prey, for example, but that's to be expected, since engaging Game Mode skips video processing. With component-video 1080i, we noticed no difference in picture quality regardless of Game mode setting.

We also tried connecting the 360 via the VGA adapter, and the console did not fill the Sony's screen, regardless of which adjustments we made on the console of to the TV itself. Component-video looked much sharper and also filled the screen.(Thanks to David Rudden for 360 testing).

PC performance: We hooked the Sony up to a PC via VGA, and as expected, the set maxed out at 1,366x768 resolution. The desktop did not nearly fill the screen, and furthermore, according to DisplayMate, the Sony couldn't resolve every line of resolution; text indeed looked pretty soft, even after we engaged the set's automatic calibration for PC.

I guess that I am gonna to stick with component for my television. Your SDTV, HDTV, LCD or CRT.

CRT is great for VGA.

LCD is great for DVI, but xbox 360 does not have that. Use VGA instead DVI.

HDTV use component or vga. It is your choice after you view them difference.

SDTV same as above. Does not support to 720p. Just 480p.

1080p? how? did I miss the download? I was trfying to look around last night for the 1080p update.. I also found that p(progressive is better for videogames than i(interlaced) because of the quickly changing environiment in-game some games.

Both of VGA and Component are great but VGA is just for people who own monitor and Component is just for people who own HDTV.

If don't own HDTV but monitor then get VGA cable to get HD on Xbox 360.

That's odd because MS said that can get 1080p via VGA and Component cable.

Just call MS and explain to them about what happen with 1080p isn't work.

Did you go to display setting? Just try to find them.

I chose component, but VGA is good also. I'm not sure how they get 1080p with VGA, I believe it's because VGA supports high resolution up to 1920x1080 on the computer.

I own VGA and I like it ALOT. It's a cheaper way for ppl who cant afford a HDTV but already have a VGA monitor and they are golden.

Sjones, cnet agreed with me what I posted this morning. I never say vga is better than dvi. I say vga is much better than conpoent on the 360 system with my dell 24 inch lcd widescreen flat panel (pc montior)that supports up to max 1920 x 1200 resolution. Of course vga smoked conpoenet. I was just trying to tell you. But for lcd hdtv (tv only)like you have it, of course conponent is way better than vga. Anyways, this morning I posted it was meant for 360 system and pc monitor and I'm sorry if I confused you
