I am really enjoying being on here, but one thing I see sometimes is "retard" used as general slang for "stupid", "don't like so-and-so". I have worked with people with cognitive disabilities and they are neither "retarded" or "stupid". To use that term as pejorative does same dis-service as using the equally negative and inappropriate "deaf and dumb".

Thank you for bringing that up. It is insensitivity personified.
 
I've seen lots of people using that term. I've only ever used it once when quoting what I said to someone, and I had felt bad for saying it. I do not like the word and do not use it because I know it is a derrogatory term. The other times I have used it, I quoted what someone had said to me, and he uses that word a lot because he doesn't have a very broad vocabulary and because he is an idiot.

I have never used the word directly unless quoting something, but if I have ever offended someone with my posts, I do apologize.
 
When i was younger i would say it a lot simply because i didnt really see it as "bad" because "everyone was saying it" and it kinda just stuck.. but now.. im completely different.. and haven't used that word in yeaaarss :D

I don't think you have too much to worry about Loghead. I think you are a really nice kid.
