Lane 9 News Archive: USA Team Headed to World Deaf Swimming Championships


THE 20-member USA team is headed to Coimbra, Portugal, to compete in the 2011 World Deaf Swimming Championships, August 6-13.

Marcus Titus, Olympic Trials qualifier and member of the USA Swimming National Team, headlines the men's team. The men's team also includes Brian Bennett, DJ Everton-Lovell, Scott Farrell, Edward Freeman, Kenneth Freeman, Will Landgren, Scott Matchett, Thomas Osborn, and David Tolstyka.

The women's team includes Kristin Ates, Sydney Bello, Samantha Elam, Jazmin Hernandez, Peggy Liang, Abby McAlpin, Becca Meyers, Catherine Parker, and Jessica Weeden. The swimmers will be coached by Bill Snape, head coach of the Gallaudet University Swim Team.
