Updated: Man Holding Family Hostage In Custody
Today's THV - KTHV Little Rock News Article
The armed man holding his ex-wife and child hostage in the parking lot of the Choctaw Post Office just south of Clinton is now in police custody. No details have been released.
Jeffrey Pearson, 30, of Bee Branch had his ex-wife and 4-year-old daughter at knifepoint in his pick up truck. Police say he was pointing a large knife at his daughter. They say she is visibly upset. They have been inside the truck since about 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Van Buren sheriff’s deputies were trying to negotiate with him through his open window of his truck. A SWAT team and the FBI are assisted in the standoff.
Note: If you use this post office on Highway 330, your mail is being sent to the Clinton post office and it is open until 4 p.m. today.
