Unemployment Benefits Extensions failed to pass

Yeah, there is always solution to the problems. So like I said previous, it is not the end of the world.

I checked the newspaper myself quite a few times...very few jobs and nothing there that I'm qualified for and at my age it's hard to find a job.... I've always worked until the past few years, even with the boys.

So, now that it's summer, I've thought of working at Winn-Dixie, as a friend of mine was able to get on there as a stocker....even posting signs for child care for working parents (but that would be my last resort). Winn-Dixie has never called back, so I, again will go and inquire if my application is being considered.

Thrift stores are booming due to the economy...and Goodwill might have an opening, but the pay isn't much!...To help with ur food bill, you can volunteer at any food bank or Church...and get free food or 1st pick of the best food/bread, it helps.
My boys are even finding it hard to mow lawns as people are being very tight with their $$, and try to get their lawns mowed for next to nothing!
 
That is what I am talking about, forget newspaper as it is not going to help much. BUT if you do networking and persist in contacting prospective employer. They want you to pest them about openings. The more you bother them the better they remember your name which could give you better chance in getting job. With my job, how do I get job? The answer is I bothered them to the point where they decided that I am worth a try to them. Bam! I got it. This had happened to me 5 times and it worked every time. I did turn down two job offers and opt for employer that offers me best benefits and pay.

But again most important part is NETWORKING. You see, you got friend working for Winnie-dixie, if your friend recommend you to them, then you stand better chance of getting job than though newspaper.

The last paragraph is excellent, that is what I am talking about, starting the bottom.

You are absolutely correct. I have joined my brother in his business of Mechanical LLC, since he has more work than he can handle. It is mostly by referrals and word of mouth, and plain old "pounding the pavement." In this day and age, one mustn't be fearful of trying something different or new.

It is amazing how many people don't network. It is one of the most beneficial things you can do when you are looking for work, or even just considering changing jobs.

Too many people don't want to start at the bottom. But some pay is better than no pay.

This is actually a perfect time to consider changing careers.
 
That is called "Problem solver"

If you complain to employer of your personal issues and uses this as an excuse, what do you think Employer would think? The answer is "This applicants shows evidently not a problem solver, we do not need this applicant" then discard resume or appliation. You think you can hide yoourself on resume or applications? You would be dead wrong, we are now living on Information highway, employers are bound to find out about you.

My job, I strive to solve the problems in any way I can. I love to solve problems because it shows that I am independent and capable of taking care of myself and others.

Ok color me confused, but it's my understanding that I have to find a private health sector to pay for my premiums otherwise I risk breaking the law. I have not seen nor read anything about signing up for THEIR healthcare so I can be insured. Where does it say that and where will I find that?

That is myth, employer is REQUIRED to provide health care.

To be honest, I thought the same way for the first 20 years of struggling. Now I found out that I was thinking all wrong.

Obamacare limits your health care spending up to 10% of your income. So that is good news. Stop thinking negative and be a problem solver. I know you CAN! You show your faith to your wife, that means you show faith in yourself. YOU CAN!

if you either do not have a job or do not meet the certain income bracket, you are exempted from mandatory insurance requirement. It will be provided for you. all paid for by the rich :)

That has been a major portion of the bill. Affordable insurance for those that are not covered by employers or fall through the Medicaid gaps. This is one of the reasons that I was so confused by the fact that you did not support health care reform. It is a benefit to you and your wife.
 
plus - if you have your own private insurance.... that's fine. you keep it.
 
If you have problem with your boss at job so just ignore their whine but follow wherever you work in or learn how to be assholeness, you may ask Jiro for help to turn you into asshole so you will feel so good at job. :lol:
 
Yeah, it is not boss job to babysitting employees. Boss loves employees that don't depend on them for any issues at work. Based on my experience, I can see what they meant. Boss only there to ensure that you have work to do during a specific amount of time with expectation that you will be there from the beginning to end. Boss also evaluates employee to find any potential which can benefit company which turns into promotions. Trust me, boss CAN see employees better than employees themselves.

My dad used to be supervisor at two companies, he told me he was tired and sick of hearing lame excuses or complaints from employees. He said it is wasting his time because he has to document and make report which in turn makes employees look bad in long run.

Want to climb up from bottom, easy... Show up ON TIME which is #1 most important to company regardless. That is one, second, be a problem solver, this includes solving any issues with co worker without knocking the supervisor door. Be a team player, doing "Team player" shows that you have potential assisting employees below you when you promote. Finally, another most important asset to the company is being an adult, act responsiblity with lame excuses going in shredder instead of supervisors.

I was shocked to hear several companies in my area that refuses to hire Deaf people. Do you have any idea what was their number one reason? It is not because they are Deaf, it is because of past experience with Deaf that got lousy attendance EVEN though they are excellent employees. Like I said earlier, Show up on time is number one most important. I learn about this before looking for another job, I decided to use my award for perfect attendance from previous employee that I worked for 4 years. I showed it (Award) to supervisor at the time of an interview, I was hired from there right on spot.

The House passed the bill today, July first. The bill is in limbo, though, since Congress will take a week-long vacation. Then, it will go to the Senate for a vote.
