This prompted me to have a string of questions about the issues that we do entercounter with on a daily basis. Sometime I wonder, Is stereotype a good or a bad thing to have? I am aware that stereotype tends to be labeled as a bad thing but on the other hand, can it be good? Is it a mask or facing the truth when stereotype initally comes in? I am open to a debate (or a discussion for that matter) about this but People, Please use your common sense and do not turn this into a flame war. We've had seen way more than enough of those flame wars here in All Deaf.
Here's some other questions that I would like to ask in this discussion -
1. What are stereotypes and how do they affect people’s lives?
2. Can you think of any events in history that were influenced by stereotypes and biases?
3. How do people learn to make stereotypes? How might they unlearn them?
4. How can the media (newspapers, television, movies) help to reduce stereotyping?
5. Do you think certain groups are more subject to stereotyping than others? If so, why?
6. What do you think an individual can do to help reduce bias and stereotyping?

But good ideas to think about.
I don't intend to make this a classroom session. I am just exploring for the possibilities and opinions, yano?
