UNBELIEVABLE a 500 km/r train is a reality...

i done Euro-Star and from tunnel on to paris make me feel travel sick so i pass on this one

What a waste of infrastructure. Planes are the most efficient means of high speed transportation.

WRONG! I had debate with my friend on this one, and he tried to prove me but found out I was right.

Train is most efficient of all, planes and cars are the same, and the worst efficient of all.

Care to prove me wrong, eh?

Did you know that freight rail gets about 420 miles per gallon per tonnage? For every 1 ton of load, they get 420 miles per gallon WHILE car, weights about 1.5 ton and the best one (Turbo Diesel) gets 47 miles per gallon.

The reason why trains are most efficient is because of mass, of course it requires energy to start up but once on cruising speed, it does not need much energy.

Whats more, it is on magnetic, meaning less friction due to zero contact on ground, and magnetic field is used to make train run while plane requires jet engine which uses more energy to pull the air though. It is not that efficient as you think it is.

The only real benefit of using plane is convenience, and speed.

I'd go on it!!...imagine 500km/hr on LAND...wow...everything would whizzes past, it would be incredible, its on magnets...you wouldn't feel much...i think its Fantastic.....SEEING SPEED close up...

tell you what's a waste of infrastructure....freeways and motorways they take up CHUNKS of land....if had 5 x more of those hi speed trains.....people would flow in and out of cities with no road rage, and saves on oil...(oil is getting Very precious these days...it is going to get too expensive to train on conventional friction-based trains and all other means of transports, planes are good for long distance international travels...i also think maybe they need to ponder on converting oil tankers into passengers "B' and "c" class travels

because jet fuels is going to get too expensive to produce within 20 years - easy.

Japan and Europe have real advantage when it comes to rail. Here in America, the land is so so so huge, and spread out which makes it difficult and more expensive to build infrastructure.

I personally love railroad and grew up traveling on rail. I met my wife though rail station.
