UCSD Deaf Reading Research Study

Dear Members of the San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles Deaf Communities,

We are looking for D/deaf readers to participate in a research study at UCSD,
where we look at how your eyes move while you read. To be involved
with this study, you must meet these qualifications:

- Age 20-45
- Born deaf or became deaf before 18 months
- Severely or profoundly deaf
- Learned ASL before age of 10
- Uses ASL most of the time
- Normal vision (glasses/contacts are okay)

If you are eligible, please consider helping research move forward on
deaf literacy. The study will take about 4 or 4 1/2 hours and we will pay you $15/hour.

I think this is the worst place to post such research.

I mean, even if the research findings result in a good reputation, it still "demonizes" the wider hearing culture on the conceptual mentality that deaf people don't write or read well.


Good luck on finding such individuals.
