When people "shave" a bat they take the end cap off, put it on a lathe and take out some of the inside thickness of the bat. This adds rebound to the bat and significantly increases the pop. Problem is when you get individuals who are not experienced enough and don't have properly precisioned equipment to shave a bat. This creates dangerous weak spots in the barrel which can easily crack or worse shatter the barrel on impact. Also with the higher rebound and recoil this places pitchers at higher danger of injury or worse.

Also for some education on other illegal bat specification read this link. It will help a lot too.

Why are Titanium Bats Illegal?

:ty: you all learning so much from this thread.

Yeah. Bad enough when the defense has to be on guard from a hard hitter.

Amazing how a specific bat can make a difference.

No wonder why my daughter wants a high end bat! :giggle:

Oh. Ok. Got the painted part.

What types of bats are considered illegal and dangerous that it can cause harm on another?

Curious.... I know I can probably google it. But it is more fun asking!

What size bat does your daughter swing?

BTW anyone know where NSAD is next year?? That would sure make for a fun AD get together.

What size bat does your daughter swing?

Not sure. But it is ASA approved and approved by her coaches.

Will have to look in her bat bag, when I take her to practice today. ButI think it is around 20 oz and 28 inches.

Her catching gear is all Diamond gear. She does not use knee savers since she says they get in her way.
