Hi, as members of the deaf/hearing community, i am wondering if any of you can help me by telling me how to spread the word about a halloween party.. Of course this isnt the only reason i'm in here!

I also have another thought.. I was recently reading the long post of "deafchat sucks" wondered if people realize that there are deaf people that are rejected from the deaf community even though they are deaf themselves, that's how hard it is to be a part of a community that people may or may not accept you. it depends on how deaf you are! Amazing!
That was just a thought, not an invitation to jump down my throat.. I love the community, it was just an observation :)

hello and welcome to AllDeaf!

Well, you can try "myspace.com" et cetera where you are guaranteed to find a large deaf population lurking around. It is like Tickle.com/Ringo.com thingy... and there is a website called "Evite" (I THINK that is the one... people if you know what I'm talking about, please correct me) where you can post your party with date, time, location and let people post if they will come for sure and list what they will bring (food, dates, etc)... two friends of mine had used it for their birthday parties and it was a hit (this is also a nice subtle way to check out WHO else is going too! ;) )

and yes-- so sad about our culture. but remembere there are many niches that members are finding themselves in. "Hoh", "Late Deafened using ASL", "CIs", et cetera which contribute to the whole outlook of Deaf culture.

welcome to AD :)

You might want to try posting on a famous deaf blogger's site.

Word by mouth is very fast, too. ;)

Email to the ones u want to come to the party with a website detailing information and addy with photos (so they don't think it's a fake), and ask them to pass the word on.
