TV Tuner Trouble

I got a tv tuner from a friend and used it in Linux. I got it to work fine with cable tv and captions. Then after a few weeks, the captions went bad sometimes. Then a while after that, the tuner got stuck on one station. Then it couldn't get any signal. Now the TVtime program shuts down right after it starts up. When I try the xaw tv program, I get one channel with a lousy black and white picture. Is the tv tuner dead?

Hmm not sure which hardware or driver are bad.


What kind tv tuner u have?
 
Now the tv program stays open and finds no signal. The tv tuner is a KWorld one.
