Has anyone tried used the Treo 650 with a Ameriphone Q90 for TTY calls? I've tried but the messages from the CA are mostly garbled and my messages are not received by the CA. I've set the Treo to TTY mode but still doesn't work correctly. Trouble shooting instructions are brief and no help.

Thanks.

There appear to be a switch in the back of Ameriphone Q90 TTY machine where it says analog and digital, though you'd have to have something to flip the switch and I don't know what my switch are in... :dunno:

Bingo! Switched to analog, works perfect.

Thanks GraysonPeddie!

My understanding is that the Krown Pocketcomm is a better tool to use than a Ameriphone for Treos.

Great...can't edit my post... (sigh...)

My Ameriphone Q90-D didn't work as my dad and I tried to switch from digital to analog but the switch seemed to got loosened and it seemed to break off... My dad took my TTY apart to try to fix it but it didn't work out... The last time I bought my TTY is October 2005, and I'm gonna have to spend another $200 to get a new TTY but I already spent $200 for Ameriphone last year.

I plan to get Digital Compact-C Portable TTY but that's $100 more than Ameriphone...

I have my Motorola V710 cell phone purchased from Alltel around Feburary 2005 (family plan) and I got my Blackberry 7290 purchased from Garth Wireless and signed up with GoAmerica, although my Blackberry 7290 has "T-Mobile" below my keyboard and in my Blackberry screen. Because I have my Blackberry 7290, I'd use relay and for emergency use, I'd have to have a TTY but I won't be able to test my TTY with my BlackBerry because I'm in a data-only plan.

What about for Blackberry 7290?

You can't dial 911 with Lormar Logic (!), and yet I already have Lormar Logic so thanks. What can you do in case of emergency and if don't have an external TTY?

email to someone then have that person call 911. yet better than nothing

Treo got TTY mode wrong way. You won't get it work.

You might want to use terminal program to make connect with ip-relay

I used a very small screwdriver thru the slot. It not real easy to do, you'd think they put an external switch on the side....... :dunno:

Not sure what you mean. I can switch my Treo to TTY mode by going to call, dialing #*889. Once I switched my TTY to analog, it seems to work fine.
