Two deaf base ball (not baseball) teams will be
playing a game, exactly the way it was played in the
19th century (no gloves, overhead pitches, stand up
umpires, 19th century attire, etc).
This event will be taking place at the
Genesee Country Village Museum (NY) on September 30th
to honor Dummy Hoy, who played baseball, not
base ball.
Why base ball and not baseball? Because it was
spelled that way back before this word evolved to
baseball.
I got this from Deafdigest.com e-mail.
A Deaf event that will be played very tough just like in the tough old days.
