Total Lunar Eclipse: Don't Miss this!

Me and my wife saw Lunar Eclipse early this morning.... It was so AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

On 1:51 am - Partial Eclipse Begins which we saw it.
On 2:52 am - Total Eclipse Begins - saw it.
On 3:37 am - Mid Eclipse - saw it and so beautiful reddish one still awesome!
On 4:22 am - Total Eclipse Ends - saw it again and then went back to bed and snoooooooooooozzzzzzzzzzzzzeeeeeeeeeeee ooooooooooofffffffffffff!!!!!!!!!!!
On 5:24 am - Partial Eclipse Ends - Dang missed it!!!!!!! Wahhhhhhh Wahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! Lmao............

The last eclipse of 2007 is a partial solar eclipse at the Moon's descending node in southern Leo. Its visibility is confined to parts of South America, Antarctica and the South Atlantic.

Annular Solar Eclipse of February 07

The first solar eclipse of 2008 occurs at the Moon's ascending node in Capricornus. An annular eclipse will be visible from a wide track, that traverses Antarctica and southern regions of the Pacific Ocean. A partial eclipse will be seen within the much larger path of the Moon's penumbral shadow, which includes the southeastern third of Australia, all of New Zealand and most of Antarctica

The first lunar eclipse of 2008 is perfectly placed for observers throughout most of the Americas as well as western Europe.

On Friday, August 01, a total eclipse of the Sun is visible from a narrow corridor that traverses half the Earth. The path of the Moon’s umbral shadow begins in Canada and extends across northern Greenland, the Arctic, central Russia, Mongolia, and China where it will end at sunset [Espenak and Anderson, 2006]. A partial eclipse is seen within the much broader path of the Moon’s penumbral shadow, which includes northeastern North America, and most of Europe and Asia (Figure 3).



Partial Lunar Eclipse of August 16

The last eclipse of 2008 is a partial lunar eclipse at the Moon's ascending node in Capricornus. It is visibile primarily from the Eastern Hemisphere as well as eastern South America (Figure 6).


You are right about that... but only one event will be seen here in Americas which is Total Lunar Eclipse of Feb 21, 2008.. So mark it on your calendar! :)

You're welcome, also thanks for the comments of my photography skills. :) It is pretty difficult to take pictures of the moom because of the exposure, ISO, need of ultra zoom, focus metering and all that stuff. I was struggling to make it more crisp sharp, but I don't know why I get slightly fuzzy shot. I just happen to work from 6 pm to 2:30 AM, so that's why I was real lucky not to miss that esclipe. :)

YW.. yeah i can see the picture very clearly and it turned out wonderful! Lucky you have a digital camera. I dont have one. I have been thinking of getting myself one but that is on hold, lol as I am saving money for the trailer! so after that I might get one, who knows!

anyway back in school I was never good with the cameras, believe it or not. All of the pictures came out fuzzy! The teacher kept saying I might need a glasses.. I wnet to the eye dr and had tests.. Sure enough I need one but for reading! Ha! To this day I still have problems with taking camera. I guess I m not good with taking pics? i only stick with dispoable camera! they came out FINE! :giggle:
 
freaky_cat, I'm sure you will do fine with basic photography with a digital camera. You won't have to worry about bad pictures and you can always delete it and re-take pictures again. :)

I do understand that you needed to save up for something you really need first and get that camera later. By the time you got the trailer, the digital cameras may be near or equal photographic quality compared to film camera. :)
 
Damn, no supervisor, no boss around I could have easily sneak outside and watch the show! I was so focus on working helping other customers. My loss that I place customers first before the moon, or anything else.

yeah delete the pics here and there .. that i can do as it is easy thing to do! its just the focusing thing that i am not real good at... lol.. i ought to research on digital camera.. i hope they come with auto focus so i wont have any plms with it so i wont have to mess with the focus? ha.. :)
