Yes this is indeed a stupid thread posted out of boredom. Im sitting here on a Friday night with nothing to do in AGES. I feel like watching a movie but not sure what. I have bought two Christmas DVDs, but had planned on saving them until later but I realized that if I waited until Christmas to give them, it'd be too late to really enjoy them.

So right now Im debating on whether or not I should open the 'A Christmas Story' DVD or not................................................................................

Were the DVDs intended for gifts or just for yourself? If it's for yourself, then go ahead and open them. Christmas movies doesn't mean they're intended to be watched only on Christmas day, but during the holidays or anytime. :)

Well they were intended as gifts for my DD and the 'A Christmas Story' for my dad (but secretly really wanted the movie for myself,)

Well anyway its kind of bunk now because my DD found them. She saw her movie but doesnt realize its actually hers to watch. (I left the bag sitting out on the desk instead of putting it away immediately like I should have). I told her they were secrets and not to tell anyone and so far she hasnt.

But I was going to give them on Christmas day as my DD asked for her movie at the beginning of the month, and dad had asked for his on and off for the last couple of weeks now. But I think he would rather be able to watch it now while he's in the mood to watch, rather than having to wait a whole year to get back in the mood. (I know Im the same way, the day after Christmas Im ready to take the tree down and throw it out side  )

As I said this entirely a stupid question......

It is not a stupid question. U were just thinking out loud and in need of feedback. I probably would have the same question if I was in your shoes.

It seems like tonight is a good time to watch the movie. No harm done, right?

go ahead and watch it.. I have been watching the movies alots since the day after Thanksgiving.. Really it is good time to watch christmas movies!... after Christmas day its over? so better to watch it now.. ;)

Well that got answered for me, mom decided to watch Monster in Law, which I am pseudo-watching at the moment but I am about to go to bed. I think me and Maddie will stay home while mom and dad go get a tree. I wouldnt mind her going but the weather is going to be nasty and she's already coughing her little head off. So I think we'll watch her movie then which is actually a collection of all the Christmas classics on DVD such as Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer, Santa is Comin' To Town, Mr Magoo's Magical Christmas, etc. I think we'll watch one or two of those after we go to the post office then clean the house up. Tomorrow night we are going to a Christmas play at the church.

Nothing wrong with giving your DD the early Christmas present. I think the two of you watching it and enjoying it together is more important that what day you do it. Have fun! IMO, the best present you can give your DD is your time spent in an activity that you both enjoy.

I don't think any harm would be done. She would enjoy it I think, plus it'll give me something to do to pass the time, better than sitting here at the computer all day, lol.

yup i agree with u :)

We have been watching Christmas movies all day and I think she's about to go out for a nap. But no guarantees.

She now wants to watch SpongeBob, go figure. I think I may get off here and get engaged in something productive with her like cleaning the house. Im bored of watching TV already! lol.
