Tips for more video views on youtube?

Yeah, I have tried everything I have thought of to get more views on my youtube videos. I don't understand how do other people get more views on similar videos as mine. More views=more money if you decided to place advertisements on your videos. Got any ideas?

It wouldn't be a good idea to put any sex words in the tags or people find out there's no sexual videos. :lol:
 
Put in tag words like "Cute Kitten" and it's an instant hit.
 
It all starts with some nonprofit advertising or becoming an internet phenomenon. Someone emails it to another, a few forums post about it, then the rest follow.

The highest views I have on my channel is at ~72,000 for one video. Initially, forums linked it and I got several thousand, and then after I established a base I believe it started putting my video ahead of other similar videos after it saw mine generated more hits.

I think the quickest hits come from two ways:
One from being an internet hit that you spread across all the forums. The other is that your video is the one that pops up after one is over.
 
1. Tweet your video via Twitter
2. Post on Facebook
3. Join DeafVideo.tv, if you have video that is relation to deaf
4. tags as much as you can, whatever is relation to video, add one lie tag, more visitor
5. Add video to your blog/website
 
put some real nude boobs in it and it will go platinum.

I tested this and the video is still up with millions of views.

because they have something interesting to watch.

Try to make your videos something interesting to watch. interesting enough for people to share it with their friends and say "WATCH IT!!!!!"

That wasn't my point. I've seen similar kind of videos that have lot more views than I do with same kind of interests from whoever watch them. :) I'm just trying to find tips like some others suggested.

Of course, it does take lot of work to make a video interesting to attract hundred of thousands and millions of views.

Not really. Its more of luck.

it's most likely cuz those people already have established "fan base" and reputation to start with and it grew from there. or maybe they're just that charismatic :)

If you make a video exactly like other people did.... chance is very few people will watch it and take it with a tiny grain of salt because nobody knows who you are and what your background is so why should they listen to you?

So you'll have to approach it the same way as you did in AD. In here - we know you as tree man and we know your background. and while we all know you, we would do our best to help you by sharing videos to our friends, FB, other forums, etc.

If you want to make videos based on specific interest, then you'll need to join a specific forum and start making friends, establish your rep, etc. That, of course, will take months. The only way to shorten that time is to have a background to back it up such as professional experience, award/recognition, etc.

For regular people.... establish your reputation first... and then grow from there.... like a tree :)
