THORNS OF THE HEART
Stinging, prickling aches tormenting the walls
Agony and misery rides the bumpy current
Which flows within the heart's halls
Thorns overshadowing and blocking doorways
Unknown chords striking sourly in the dark
The soul becoming the ultimate prey
Looming further away from the presence of love
Clutching the heart once was tender
Now null and full of void
Emotions thrashed about like in a blender
Mixed and confused
Tho' the heart sadly beats on in hope
With openness
To once again withstand and cope
With the virtues of love
Pulling apart the thorns
Tearing into the flesh and tenderness of the heart
Not collapsing under scorn
But with an affirmative grip of Love
