I sit on a mountain
With no trees at all
And watch from a distance
As more of them fall

I hear men with their weapons
Listen to the screams of the dying
See the lights from the cannons
Part of me feels like crying

I remember a quite time
Not so very long ago
When we shared these same mountains
With our neighbors but now foe

When did all this happen
Why can we not live in peace
Must we destroy all this land
Will the injustice ever cease

The animals have all left
No shelter can they find
No tree is left standing
Mankind must be blind

Nice poetry!

Maybe mankind is not blind... we are!

Nice Poem btw... when I first saw your title on the board and it make me think of this song:

This land is your land
This land is my land

From California
to New York Island

From the redwood forest
to the gulf stream water

This land was made for you and me... and so on..
