I just read this article and liked it. It got me thinking about the environmental impact of a string of them along shorelines, the logistics of constructing them, and their practicality. Hmmm. Good read with nice diagrams.

one critical flaw - they didn't factor in obstacles from ocean that can cause expensive obstruction - such as sea trash and sea weeds.
