I just rented a movie called " Syriana ". I have been wanting to watch that movie. I hope I enjoy it. Now the movie starts as I pop in the DVD. Will let you know what I think. :) :thumb:

This is a very long and a very suspenseful movie. I am not done yet. This is a very good movie.

This is just simply a very good movie as it shows what goes on at the local and the world stage each night as we sleep or upon waking up and going to work. These men play very physical chess as well as political chess. I saw how the imam decieved 2 young arabic teenage boys into going on a suicide mission to stop world events from going the way it went. I got to really see the personalities of the characters " Abel and Cain " brothers by the young and upcoming arabic brothers as the ailing father turns over power to one of the sons. The tragic death of an American man's son played a profound part in the piece of the puzzle and the conquensces that led him to that fateful day. I know that our American government is no saint but I really would have sided with that guy who got killed in the 4th truck as they went through the desert. I am not sure if the American man really understood or knew what he was doing on that fateful day.The one thing that was very heartwrenching was the father of the arabic teenager had no idea what was going to happen with his son as his son left for the final preparations for a suicide mission. I know his father clearly would not have allowed him to go had he known his son was going on a suicide mission. It was very clear to me his father loved that boy. I was very angry with the imam. I got to see many things that truly made me happy and blessed that I am Deaf and do not have to deal with these things and go to the extreme as these teenage boys did. I would never have gone to the extreme right or the extreme left. I am more of in the middle of the road and I would never have done those things. This was a beautiful and a very tragical film and lives were destroyed on a whim of a deal or a power play. I felt for that man employed by the CIA as he talks to the emir, his old friend, the Hezbollah and being caught in the middle and everything he worked so hard for was gone in a flash. I realized that people who work in these line of work really have short lives and this movie pulls no punches about it. I got to see the corporate lawyers battle it out and that to me, was really crazy and that really is no way to do business. There are many things I can not believe about this movie and I am truly thankful to be a Deaf man and not have to worry about these things. This is insane and no way to live even though they are wealthy. There is no real happiness and no joy in what they do because their human souls have really been bothered by the day to day activities that they do and the balance in their souls really weighs down on them and they are not able to enjoy the finer things in life without being fair to everybody. I saw the exploitation of the oil rigging workers and how corporate lawyers with the bosses just said we don't need you anymore and let them go with nowhere else to go which truly sucks and is really not right. It never crossed the wealthy businessmen that one day they would truly hate to be in the position these men working for poverty wages would be in. We need to be thankful we live in America and have laws that help the Deaf community to have jobs, houses , cars, able to bless our families with food on the table and to Thank God for all that we have and to do what we can to help anothers that are less fortunate than us but do not confuse helping people out with the guilt trip that anothers want to impose upon us for money. We need to be able to give generously out of our own free will and our hearts and to not go on a guilt trip which can really manipulate people for profits. I mean there are so many good things to see in this film. I would have to give it a thumbs up as this has no real nudity, alittle of bad language, alots of intense hard hitting violence and personal, political drama being played out on the local and the world stage overnight and in daily life of several countries. I think this could be good for classroom debate in high school or in college as this is one really good movie that I have seen for myself. I would have this in my DVD collection for sure. I thought what it said on the corporate logos were a very interesting play of words for the movie also which ironically enough helps to see the movie in its right context as you watch the movie. :) :thumb:

I saw it when it came out on DVD on tuesday. Great film, the writer of Traffic wrote and directed this movie. It is a good contrast to what is going on with oil and the oil industry. One person on IMDB said it ends like a truck crash, and nobody really understands what is going on. I agree with that statement. America is too obsessed with oil, and this movie shows. Superb acting by George Clooney.

I thought it was kinda strange to see George Clooney in this movie " Syriana " but whoa ... the tourture scene was very intense, man.... He is lucky he got out alive. I liked George Clooney the best in " The Three Kings "

Did you know that Clooney put on 30 pounds for his role in Syriana? That torture scene was a bit chilling, I agree.

I did not know that he put on 30 lbs. for the movie and when I saw that tourture scene I was holding my hands and shaking them like there was something phantom there and I also was holding my neck, you know rubbing my neck right ..... because I was under stress from just seeing that tourture scene. I had to look away for a few mintunes then once I got past the shock and the fear then I hit the rewind button then was able to watch the whole tourture scene and it was very gruesome. I can really imagine the screams because I have heard tourturing screams in real life as well as on the Orgish.com website. My t.v.'s volume is broken so I can't use it and that is why I can really imagine the frightening screams from the tourture alone. All in all, a very good movie worth having in my DVD collection.
